July 1st to August 9th
Art Walk

Works from Local artists/artisans including painters, carvers, photographers, pottery and weaving are on display at participating businesses around Chase. Everyone is encouraged to pickup an Art Walk passport (starting July 1st) at the Chamber of Commerce. Visit all locations, have your passport stamped and be eligible for some wonderful art work. The Art Walk continues daily during business hours until august 9, 2008.  Get your passport at the Chase Info Centre, Sunshore golf course, Diane’s Choice, Riley & Associates or Chase Optometric Centre!

Wake Up World Live on Location in Chase.
Sketch Theatre is presenting this comical talk show at the Joyce Dunn Theatre in Memorial Park at 7:30pm. Bring a lawn chair and a monetary donation, as proceeds are going to the Chase Hamper Society and the Chase Centennial. Be prepared to laugh.
 
 

July 27

Garden Tours: 10am-2pm
Tour 10 beautiful gardens around Chase including some beautiful waterfront locations. There will be a social tea including strawberry shortcake and other refreshments at a secret garden location 12-2pm included with the tour. Meet at 10am at Shuswap grocery to join a group or get a program for a self guided tour. At each location the gardeners will provide information about their gardens. See a variety of unique gardens including beautiful flowers, fruit trees, fish ponds, interesting planters, grape vines, lovely smelling lavender, amazing vegetables, exotic plants, antiques and other features. The many gardens provide “colour for all seasons”. Besides experiencing the beautiful gardens participants will have an opportunity to learn tips, tricks and techniques from other gardening enthusiasts. The cost of the tour is $10 per person or $20 for families. Tickets available at Chase Optometric Centre 8:30-4:30 Monday to Friday.

AUGUST 1st - 9th

Historical Tours (daily)
These guided tours will be offered throughout this
momentous summer season. Participants will be shown the local historic buildings, told some interesting tales and learn about indigenous flora and fauna.

School Tours (daily)
Our three school locations will be open for tours; graduating class photos, school team outfits and the chance to meet former staff.

Quilt Show AUG 2, 3, 4 at Community Hall. More than 100 quilts will be featured. There will be demonstrations and opportunity to try quilting!

Historical skits and reenactments.
Aug2-9
Sketch Theatre will be performing various skits and reenactments throughout Chase during the Centennial Celebrations.


Concessions and Vendors

There will be a variety of concessions at Memorial Park for the week of Aug 1-9. They will open to public late afternoon and evening. 

Hospitality Room
Large white tents will be available for use during the morning and early afternoons for anyone wishing to have informal get together.  They will be closed to general public after 3:30 in the afternoon.

Main Street musicians
Local Musicians will entertain along Main Street for the
enjoyment of those at work or at play.
Residents and students are submitting historical stories.
Top winners will read their work.

Children's Activities taking place at Memorial park.

Centennial Parade 11:00- Entries depicting various aspects of life in Chase over the past 100 years and marching bands to build excitement and entertain the crowds.  We also expect to see many heritage vehicles including antique cars, and old style agricultural and logging equipment. We're also hoping to have many horse-drawn and mounted entries, a large contingent of First Nations entrants, and a variety of novelty acts Parade goes to Memorial Park where the Opening Ceremonies- Ribbon cutting of new amphitheatre.

Our New amphitheatre, a Town Centre project, will officially open.
